Meet Your Nurse
"Nursing is not just what I do — it is who I am."
— Carike van Rooyen, Registered NurseI am a registered nurse with a deep commitment to patient dignity, comfort, and healing. Nursing became more than a profession for me — it became a vocation. Every patient deserves expert clinical care, compassion, and genuine human connection, especially in the vulnerability of illness.
Registered Nurse · Founder of Deocore
"I started Deocore because I believed patients deserved better than choosing between their health and their home. Now, they don't have to choose."
— Carike van Rooyen, Registered NurseFrom an early age, I was drawn to caring for others, and nursing soon became more than a profession — it became a vocation. I entered the field with a strong commitment to supporting individuals during some of the most challenging moments of their lives, and that sense of purpose continues to guide my work today.
Over the years, I have gained experience across a range of healthcare environments, including acute hospital settings and community-based care. It was through providing care in patients' homes that I came to appreciate how significantly comfort, familiarity, and the presence of loved ones contribute to the healing process.
Through Deocore, I now deliver high-quality clinical care directly within patients' homes — specialising in PICC line and port insertion, home infusion therapy, TPN administration, suprapubic catheter care, and selective wound management — providing hospital-standard treatment with professionalism, compassion, and precision where it is needed most.
Our Philosophy
We believe patients deserve the best care without having to leave the place they feel safest. We go to them — with the equipment, technology, and compassion that makes it possible.
We believe in limiting lengthy hospital stays wherever clinically safe — particularly for patients who lack transport, are too frail to travel, or simply recover better in a familiar environment. Distance does not stand in our way.
We have the equipment and technology to place lines at the patient's home or any clinical setting. Insertions are performed with sonar guidance and avatar tip-tracking technology — no X-ray confirmation needed.
We work closely with a group of doctors ensuring safe vascular access for the full duration of treatment. A doctor is on standby at all times. We partner with COMPAST for safe medical waste disposal.
What I Offer
Professional placement of peripherally inserted central catheters. All insertions use sonar guidance and avatar tip-tracking — no X-ray needed.
Port placement for patients needing repeated vascular access. Same precision imaging guidance as PICC insertions.
Regular home visits for PICC and port upkeep — dressing changes, flushing, site inspection, and infection-prevention protocols.
Long-term total parenteral nutrition delivered safely at home. Patient monitoring, solution management, and full documentation every visit.
IV antibiotics at home per your prescription — ideal for OPAT patients avoiding re-hospitalisation.
Professional suprapubic catheter changes in the patient's home — comfort, hygiene, and function maintained.
Targeted wound assessment and management at home, according to the referring physician's treatment plan.
Blood drawn at home and personally delivered to the relevant laboratory per your request — no travel needed.
Walk-in IV service on a private cash-pay basis. Hydration, vitamin, or wellness drips — professional, safe, outside hospital.

Patient Profiles
Home infusion therapy is clinically appropriate for a wide range of conditions. If your patient requires hospital-level IV treatment but would benefit from remaining at home, we can help.
What I Stand For
I treat every patient as I would my own family — with tenderness, patience, and full attention to their emotional as well as clinical needs.
When I commit to a patient and their family, I show up — consistently, one patient at a time.
I hold myself to the highest professional standards. Every procedure is performed with precision, and every outcome is carefully monitored and reported.
Every clinical decision is made with the patient's best interest at heart, independent of any outside influence or pressure.
